Academic Programs and Uniandes Faculty of Engineering

Interfaculty academic program landing page

2026
The challenge went beyond renewing a portal. The Faculty of Engineering and its programs bring together academic information, research, internationalization, labs, news, events, and services for applicants, students, professors, and other audiences with different needs. The project had to organize that universe, respect each program's identity, and at the same time offer shared criteria that made it easier to compare alternatives and maintain the information.
We worked with the Faculty's teams to define the information architecture, model content, and prototype journeys before implementing. Based on those decisions, we developed the frontend and backend foundation, the editorial models, and the reusable components for the migration. The architecture had to scale a broad academic offering without turning every program into a copy or forcing the same publishing patterns to be solved over and over.
Insights
- An academic architecture needs to reconcile the institutional structure with the real questions that guide the choice and understanding of a program.
- Reuse delivers scale when it standardizes components, relationships, and content models without imposing the same narrative on every offering.
- The decision-making experience is built by connecting value proposition, evidence, curriculum, opportunities, admissions, and contact into an understandable sequence.
Results
The work brought together academic and content owners, program leads, and profiles specialized in strategy, UX/UI, technical architecture, and development. Coordination and the iterative process made it possible to validate prototypes, adjust models, and translate institutional, editorial, and technological decisions into consistent pages that keep the space each program's differentiators need.
The result establishes a foundation applicable to a broad academic offering: it makes it easier to add programs, maintain shared criteria, and present each alternative with the depth an applicant's decision requires. The published pages for interfaculty programs, Chemical Engineering, and Engineering Management show the system's reuse across offerings with different content and audiences.
