Custom software development company in Colombia

Portals, data platforms, APIs, applications and applied AI, built by an engineering team that delivers code your organization can keep operating.

Coresis is a software development company in Colombia, based in Bogotá, that builds and sustains platforms for public entities, universities and companies. We build custom software when an off-the-shelf product does not fit the process, and we integrate it with the systems the organization already runs.

Custom software or packaged product: when each makes sense

Not every project justifies custom development. If a market product solves the process through configuration, it is usually cheaper to operate. Custom development pays off when the process is what sets the organization apart, when it has to integrate systems no product connects out of the box, or when data, accessibility or public procurement requirements do not fit a standard license.

  • A product makes sense when the process is standard (payroll, invoicing, help desk) and the organization can adapt to it.
  • Custom development makes sense when the process is your own, changes often or depends on integrations with legacy systems.
  • Most often it is a combination: a CMS or product as the base, and custom work on integrations, workflows and user experience.

We make that call with the client during the initial technical review, before quoting. If the answer is that you do not need custom software, we tell you.

Projects we still operate

A software development company is measured by what keeps working years after launch. These are some of the projects in our portfolio:

  • Universidad de los Andes School of Engineering: a renewed digital experience for its academic offering that guides applicants based on what sets each program apart.
  • Ministry of Housing: infrastructure analysis, information architecture and portal development.
  • Metro de Bogotá: front-end rebuild and portal migration focused on GOV.CO and accessibility, plus the land occupancy and value observatory with geospatial data.
  • Postdata.gov.co: transformation of the open data platform of the Communications Regulation Commission (CRC), from its technical architecture to the move from Drupal 7 to Drupal 10.
  • Labbu: an AI assistant that guides government contractors through reports, minutes and contract documents.
  • enbogota.com.co: an app that combines location and business databases to show nearby businesses and offers.

How we work

  1. 1

    Technical review

We look at the process, the current systems and the data constraints before proposing a solution.

  2. 2

    Proposal with explicit assumptions

Scope, engagement model, timeline and price, including what happens if an assumption does not hold.

  3. 3

    Incremental delivery

Staging environments, change control and verifiable acceptance criteria in every delivery.

  4. 4

    Operation

Monitoring, support and evolution by the same team that built the platform.

We work on a fixed price when scope is defined, on an hours bank when the platform evolves continuously, and on a monthly retainer for operation and support. Details are in our engagement model.

What to ask of a software development company in Colombia

When comparing vendors, the list of technologies says little. These questions reveal more:

  • Can they show platforms that have been in production for years, not just launches?
  • Who maintains the system after delivery, and with what response times?
  • Do the code, documentation and access stay with the organization?
  • How do they test before publishing: are there separate environments and change control?
  • Do they explain what is not worth building, or only quote what is asked?

We go deeper into these criteria in software engineering in Colombia: what to demand (in Spanish).

Frequently asked questions

How much does custom software development cost in Colombia?

It depends on the number of integrations, the data volume, compliance requirements and the expected service level. We do not publish generic rates because they would not be accurate; we give a figure after a technical review, which we do not charge for.

Do you work with public entities?

Yes. Coresis S.A.S. is incorporated in Colombia and has built platforms for national and district entities, following GOV.CO guidelines, accessibility and public procurement processes.

Can you take over software built by another vendor?

Yes. We start with a review of the code, infrastructure and documentation to stabilize the platform before proposing new features.

Do you only do Drupal?

No. Drupal is one of our specialties, but we also build with Node.js, NestJS, Next.js, Angular, Java and applied AI. We choose the technology for the case, not out of preference.

Have a software project in mind?

Tell us what process you want to solve, which systems you run today and when you need it. We will tell you whether we are a fit and which engagement model makes sense.
