Metro de Bogotá
2023
The Metro system is one of the most important public projects for Bogotá, and its portal needs to communicate institutional and project information to audiences with different needs. The Coresis team took part in renewing the official website with the challenge of organizing that information, making it easier to browse, and keeping the experience aligned with current GOV.CO guidelines, accessibility, and mobile-device adaptation.
The intervention started with a review of the existing platform and connected three decisions: updating the framework, reorganizing the content and navigation architecture, and rebuilding the responsive interface. The solution needed to let technology and content evolve in a coordinated way, without carrying the logic and limitations of the previous version into the new portal.
Insights
- GOV.CO standards worked as a cross-cutting criterion to maintain institutional consistency, accessibility, and clarity across the main user journeys.
- The responsive approach let navigation, hierarchies, and content keep their usefulness on desktop and on mobile devices.
- Separating the content architecture from the presentation left a foundation better prepared to incorporate information and digital services without rebuilding the portal.
Results
The result was a technical and visual renewal built on a new content logic, a rebuilt frontend, responsive navigation, and adaptation to GOV.CO guidelines. The decisions were validated with the institutional technology team and the content owners, supported by Coresis's Drupal specialist, so the solution would serve both editorial operation and the citizen experience.
The migration left a reusable structure for managing project communication and incorporating new content and citizen services. The documented outcome is qualitative: a modernized platform, with clearer editorial responsibilities and less dependence on the legacy technical setup.
