Postdata is the open data platform of the Communications Regulation Commission (CRC). The project to improve its platform was a renewal of the content infrastructure and accessibility.
Insights
- On the previous portal, a user had to navigate multiple levels of depth to find a figure. We applied Data Storytelling principles so key indicators can be identified right from the first hierarchical level.
- We ensured full semantic navigation, so that every interface element meets a good level of usability, accessibility, and Plain Language principles as required by the Digital Government Strategy for government portals.
- We updated the content management platform version, improving the dynamics of publishing information, which is now much more intuitive.
Results
The project delivered a renewed version of POSTDATA on Drupal 10 and the EKAN ecosystem, with an updated data model, more direct editorial management, and an experience that makes it easier to identify indicators and public information. CRC leads took part, along with content and data profiles, together with our specialist in technical architecture, accessibility, and development.
The platform now offers a friendly foundation for managing and querying information about the communications sector, integrating institutional needs with GOV.CO guidelines and plain language.
